GUADELOUPE

Partner 5: National Park Guadeloupe

Expertise and skills: The PNG is involved in the protection and valorisation of cultural and natural patrimony, and helps in sustainable local development. In this respect, PNG has accompanied the re-launch of vanilla cultivation, as this culture is considered as patrimonial in its cultural and cultivation expression, but also because cultivation practices participate to forest maintenance while providing an alternative to industrial crops using synthetic inputs (banana, sugarcane..)

Name of staff involved in the project: Permanent staff Daniel SILVESTRE (Sustainable Development Service) (Scientific responsible), and Hervé MAGNIN (Biodiversity Service)

Additional Partners: In this project Guadeloupe National Park will act as the official representative for other collaborators: Conservatoire Botanique de la Guadeloupe (Jean-Marie FLOWER), SYAPROVAG (Syndicat des Producteurs de Vanille de Guadeloupe, President APATOUT Matthias), AGO.
